Once you've found out a truth about something, you're no longer ignorant, but if you don't act on that truth, then your ignorant in another way. Not acting on a truth is lying to yourself and becoming self-deceived. Evading the truth will only make it harder to achieve values and be happy.

I find it interesting that people would rather stay ignorant. It was not, however. If ignorance is bliss, then why do we seek knowledge? Not much thought needed with this... the proof that humans seek more than simple happiness is all around us to anyone with eyes and a brain.
